30 Minutes a Day Keeps Procrastination Away

Writer: Anthony D. OakesAnthony D. Oakes

I am a procrastinator.  I have always been a procrastinator.  It is very difficult for me not to be a procrastinator.  I was tasked to work on a project for 30 minutes a day for a week and divulge what I accomplished during that period.  This was a procrastinator’s fever dream.  A planned sit-down time to work was not on my bingo card for 2025, but here we are.  To tackle this task, I carved out thirty minutes each morning to work on said project.  I normally get up early in the morning, so this was the best possible time for me.

I was quite surprised at the work I was able to accomplish within this timeframe.  I was able to narrow down a list of references to use for my research.  This required a lot of reading to make sure that the research coincided with topic of my research.  This was important not only for the final project, but also for the Annotated Bibliography, which requires a small summary of each work of reference.  With the bibliography out of the way, I can open up more time for further research and I start the writing process for my 25-page research project.
